¹⁸ Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

³ Do not multiply thyself speaking great and lofty things; let arrogant words cease from your mouth, for the LORD is the all-knowing God, and the magnificent works are his.

¹⁶ And his slaves spoke yet more against the LORD God and against his slave Hezekiah.

³ The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips and the tongue that speaks proud things:

¹² For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; they shall be subject to weakness and to a curse.

¹¹ But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that swears by him shall be praised; for the mouth of those that speak lies shall be stopped.

³ Who whet their tongue like a sword and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words ⁴ That they may shoot in secret at the perfect; suddenly do they shoot at him and fear not.

⁴ How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

² Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue.

³ Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us, for we are exceedingly weary of being held in contempt. ⁴ Our soul is exceedingly weary of the scorning of those that are at ease and of the contempt of the proud.

⁹ As for the head of those that compass me about, let the perversion of their own lips cover them. ¹⁰ Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, that they not rise up again. ¹¹ The man with an evil tongue shall not be established in the earth; evil shall hunt the man of violence to overthrow him.

¹⁹ ¶ The lip of truth shall be established for ever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

²² This is the word which the LORD has spoken concerning him, Has he despised thee? Has he laughed thee to scorn O virgin daughter of Zion? Has he shaken his head behind thy back O daughter of Jerusalem? ²³ Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. ²⁴ By the hand of thy slaves thou hast reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots I shall come up to the height of the mountains to the sides of Lebanon, and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof and the choice fir trees thereof; and I will enter into the height of his border and the forest of his Carmel.

¹⁷ No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the slaves of the LORD, and their justice from me, said the LORD.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the slave as his lord. If they have called the husband of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call those of his household?

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out demons but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons.

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father ye desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

⁴⁸ Then the Jews answered, and said unto him, Do we not say well that thou art a Samaritan and hast a demon?

⁷ And when he was come, the Jews who came down from Jerusalem stood round about and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

¹⁵ ¶ to execute judgment upon all and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have unfaithfully committed and of all the hard words which the unfaithful sinners have spoken against him.

⁸ But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

¹⁵ But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and whosoever loves and makes a lie.
