Matthew 4:3-11

Worrell(i) 3 And the Tempter, having come near, said to Him, "If Thou art God's Son, speak, that these stones may become loaves of bread." 4 But He, answering, said, "It has been written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'" 5 Then the Devil takes Him into the holy city, and placed Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and says to Him, "If Thou art a Son of God, cast Thyself down; for it has been written, 'He shall give His angels charge concerning Thee; and on their hands they shall bear Thee up; lest at any time Thou shouldest dash Thy foot against a stone.'" 7 Jesus said to him, "Again it has been written, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'" 8 Again the Devil takes Him into an exceedingly high mountain, and shows Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 and he said to Him, "All these things will I give Thee, if, falling down, Thou wilt worship me." 10 Then Jesus saith to him, "Depart, Satan; for it has been written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve.'" 11 Then the Devil leaves Him; and, behold, angels came and were ministering to Him.
