33 Ye have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
34 But the testimony I receive is not from man; but these things I say, that ye may be saved.
35 He was a lamp that was burning and shining; and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
36 But I have a testimony greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given Me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing testify concerning Me, that the Father hath sent Me.
37 And the Father Who sent Me, He hath testified concerning Me. Ye have neither at any time heard His voice, nor seen His form.
38 And ye have not His word abiding in you; because Whom He sent, Him ye believe not.
39 Ye search the Scriptures; because in them ye think ye have eternal life; and these are they that testify concerning Me;
40 and ye are not willing to come to Me, that ye may have life.
