33 You sent to John, and he witnessed to the truth:
34 but I do not receive the witness with man: but I speak these things that you may be saved.
35 He was a bright and shining light: and you were willing to rejoice for an hour in that light.
36 But I have a testimony greater than that of John: for the works that the Father hath given me that I may perfect them, these works which I do, testify concerning me, that the Father hath sent me.
37 And the Father having sent me, He hath testified concerning me: never have you heard His voice, neither have you seen His face:
38 and you have not His word abiding in you: because you do not believe Him whom He has sent.
39 Search the Scriptures, because in them ye think ye have eternal life; and they are they which testify concerning me;
40 and you do not wish to come unto me, in order that you may have life.
