Luke 18:7-14

Whiston(i) 7 And, shall not God avenge his own elect, while they cry day and night unto him, and he compassionates them? 8 I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? 9 And he spake unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised other men: 10 Two men went up to the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and one a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I posses. 13 And the publican standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down justified [rather] than that Pharisee: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.
