1 Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him, and strip kings of their armor; to open the doors before him, and the gates shall not be shut:
2 "I myself will go before you, and I will level the mountains. I will break the doors of bronze and cut throughthe bars of iron.
3 And I will give you the treasures of darkness, even treasures in secret places, that you may know that I am the LORD, who calls you by your name, the God of Israel.
4 "For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen one, I have called you by name. I have given you a title of honor, although you do not know me.
5 I am the LORD, and there is no other. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not known me;
6 So that they know from the rising of the sun, And from the west, that there is none besides Me, I am the LORD, and there is none else,
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
8 Drop down from above, O heavens; and let the clouds pour down righteousness. Let the earth open and let salvation bear fruit; and let righteousness sprout together. I, the LORD have created it.
9 Woe to him who fights with the One who formed him! A potsherd among the potsherds of the earth! Shall the clay say to its former, What are you making? Or does your work say, He has no hands?
10 Woe unto him that says unto his father, What do you beget? or to the woman, What have you brought forth?
11 Thus says the LORD, the holy one of Israel, and its maker: "Ask me of the things to come about my children, and you command me about the work of my hands.
12 I myself made the earth, and I created humankind upon it. I, my hands, stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.
13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways straight. He shall build my city, and he shall let my exiles go free, not for price nor reward,” says the LORD of Armies.
14 This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans will come over to you and will be yours. They will walk behind you. They will come to you in chains. They will bow down before you and plead with you. They will say: 'God is with you and there is no other. There is no other god!'
15 Truly you are a God who hides himself, O God and Savior of Israel.
16 The makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced. They will go off into disgrace together.
17 the LORD will save Israel with an everlasting salvation. You will never be put to shame or disgraced, to ages everlasting.
18 the LORD says: "Who created the heavens? He who is God. He fashioned and made the earth. He founded it and he did not create it to be empty but formed it to be inhabited." He says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.
19 "I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness. I have not said to Jacob's descendants: Seek me in vain. I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.
20 »Come here, you refugees from the nations. Ignorant people carry wooden idols and pray to gods that cannot save anyone.
21 Declare and bring near; yea, let them consult together. Who has revealed this of old; who has told it from then? Is it not I, the LORD? And there is no God other than Me; a just God and a Savior; there is none except Me.
22 Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
23 By myself have I taken an oath, a true word has gone from my mouth, and will not be changed, that to me every knee will be bent, and every tongue will give honour.
24 He shall say, Only in the LORD do I have righteousness and strength; to Him he comes; and they are ashamed, all who are angry with Him.
25 In the LORD all the seed of Israel will be justified and will glory.
