VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹ An oracle of Damascus: "Look! Damascus will cease being a city and will become a heap of ruins. ² The cities of Aroer are forsaken. They will be for flocks, which will lie down and none will make them afraid. ³ And the fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus; and the remnant of Aram will be like the glory of the children of Israel," declares the LORD Almighty. ⁴ And it was in that day the glory of Jacob shall be feeble, and the fatness of his flesh shall waste away.
