Ezekiel 47

VIN(i) 1 The man took me back to the door of the Temple. I saw water flowing from under the entrance of the Temple toward the east. The Temple faced east. The water was flowing under the south side of the Temple, south of the altar. 2 And he led me out by way of the north gate, and led me around the way outside to the outer gate, by the way facing east. And, behold, water was trickling out of the right side. 3 As the man went eastward a measuring line was in his hand, and he measured a thousand cubits. And he led me through on into the water; it was ankle deep. 4 And he measured a thousand cubits, and passed me through the water, water to the knees. And he measured a thousand, and passed me through water to the loins. 5 Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters had risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. 6 He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen this?" Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river. 7 Now when I came there, there stood many trees upon either side of the riverbank. 8 And he said to me, These waters go out toward the eastern circuit, and go down into the Arabah, and enter the sea. They are brought out into the sea, and the waters shall be healed. 9 »Wherever the river flows, there will be many fish and animals. The river will make the water in the Dead Sea fresh. Wherever the river flows, it will bring life. 10 It will happen, that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many. 11 "But the water in the swamps and marshes will not become fresh. It will remain salty. 12 "All kinds of fruit trees will grow on both sides of the river. Their leaves will not wither, and they will not fail to produce fruit. Each month they will produce fresh fruit because this water flows from the Holy Place. The fruit will be good food, and the leaves will be used for healing." 13 This is what the Lord GOD says: "This is to be the territorial border by which you apportion the land for an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel, with Joseph double-portioned. 14 And ye inherited it, each as his brother: which I lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers: and this land fell to you in inheritance. 15 "This is to be the border for the land: on the north side, from the Mediterranean Sea by the Hethlon Road to the entrance of Zedad, 16 "Berothah and Sibraim, which are between the borders of Damascus and Hamath. It will run to Hazer Hatticon, which is on the border of Hauran. 17 "So the border will run from the Mediterranean Sea to Hazar Enon on the border of Damascus. The border of Hamath will lie to the north. This is the north side. 18 And the east side will be from Hazar-enon, which is between Hauran and Damascus; and between Gilead and the land of Israel the Jordan will be the limit, to the east sea, to Tamar. This is the east side. 19 And the south side southward will be from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribath-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, to the great sea. This is the south side southward. 20 And on the west side the Great Sea shall be the boundary up to opposite Lebo-Hamath. This is the western boundary. 21 "You shall apportion this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel, 22 dividing it randomly among yourselves and among the aliens who live among you and bear children among you. You shall treat them like native-born Israelites. Among you they, too, shall be allotted an inheritance with the tribes of Israel. 23 And it shall be, in the tribe in which the alien resides, there you shall give his inheritance, declares the Sovereign LORD.
