2 And lo! they brought to him a paralytic laid on a bed: and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Take courage, my son; thy sins are forgiven thee.
3 Thereupon some of the Scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
4 But Jesus knowing their thoughts, said, Why do ye harbour evil thoughts in your hearts?
5 For which is easier? To say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk?
6 But that you may know that the son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, Arise [saith he then to the paralytic] take up thy bed and go home.
7 Accordingly he arose and departed to his house.
8 And when the multitude saw this they expressed their admiration and glorified God who had given such power to men.
