Lamsa⁽ⁱ⁾ ² And they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a quilt-bed; and Jesus saw their faith, and he said to the paralytic, Have courage, my son; your sins have been forgiven. ³ Some of the scribes said among themselves, This man blasphemes. ⁴ But Jesus knew their thoughts; so he said to them, Why do you think evil in your hearts? ⁵ For which is easier to say, Your sins have been forgiven, or to say, Arise and walk? ⁶ But that you might know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then he said to the paralytic, Arise, take up your quilt-bed, and go to your home. ⁷ And he rose up and went to his home. ⁸ But when the crowds saw it, they were frightened, and they glorified God, because he had given such power as this to men.
