But he could not be concealed. ²⁵ For a woman, whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell at his feet ²⁶ [now the woman was a Greek, a native of Syrophoenicia] and intreated him to expel the demon out of her daughter. ²⁷ But Jesus said to her, Let the children first be satisfied; for it is not seemly to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs. ²⁸ To which she, in reply, said to him, True, sir; but still the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs. ²⁹ Thereupon he said to her, For this saying, Go home. The demon is gone out of thy daughter. ³⁰ So, going home, she found the demon was gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed. ³¹ Then, quitting the confines of Tyre and Sidon, he came again to the sea of Galilee, along the borders of Decapolis.
