Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁷ Thereupon Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even now, and I also work. ¹⁸ For this therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath, but called God peculiarly his father, likening himself to God. ¹⁹ Upon which Jesus addressed them, and said, Verily, verily I say to you, The son can of himself do nothing, unless indeed he see the Father doing it; for whatever things He doth, these the Son doth likewise. ²⁰ For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all that he himself doth. And he will shew him greater works than these, that you may wonder. ²¹ For as the Father raiseth the dead and restoreth to life, so the Son restoreth to life, whom he pleaseth. ²² For the Father judgeth no one, but hath committed the whole act of judging to his Son, ²³ that all may honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son, doth not honour the Father, who sent him.
