2 They are setting out to go down to Egypt, without having consulted me; to be assisted by Pharao and protected by the Egyptians.
3 For the protection of Pharao will be your shame, and a disgrace to them who have trusted in Egypt.
4 Because generals are unwelcome messengers at Tanis,
5 they shall labour in vain with a people who will be of no service for assistance; but for a shame and disgrace.
6 This is the vision of the four footed beasts in the desert; A lion and a lion's whelp were in distress and difficulty; and from them went the asps and the brood of flying serpents, who carried their wealth on asses and camels to a nation which could not profit them.
7 In vain and to no purpose will the Egyptians help you. Announce to them, That this application of yours is vain.
