Acts 16:19-24

Thomson(i) 19 When her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they laid hold of Paul and Silas and dragged them to the forum, before the magistrates. 20 And having set them before the generals of the army, they said, These men, being Jews, trouble this city of ours exceedingly, 21 and teach customs which it is not lawful for us, who are Romans to receive or practise. 22 Upon this the populace rose up together against them; and the generals ordered them to be stript and beaten with rods. 23 And having inflicted on them many stripe's, they committed them to prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely. 24 He having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks.
