For thou sauerest not the thynges of God, but the thynges of men. ³⁴ And he called the people vnto hym, wyth his disciples also, and sayde vnto them: Whosoeuer will folowe me, let hym forsake hym self, and take vp his crosse and folow me. ³⁵ For whosoeuer wil saue his lyfe. shall lowse it. But whosoeuer shal lowse his life for my sake and the gospels: the same shall saue it. ³⁶ What shall it profite a man, if he shoulde wynne all the worlde, and lowse his owne soule? ³⁷ or els what shall a man geue, to redeme his soule agayne? ³⁸ Whosoeuer therfore shalbe ashamed of me and of my wordes, among this aduouterous and synfull generacion, of hym shall the sonne of man be ashamed when he cometh in the glory of hys father with the holy aungels.
