For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men." ³⁴ And having summoned the crowd together with His disciples, He said to them, "Whoever is willing to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. ³⁵ For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's, will save it. ³⁶ For what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? ³⁷ Or what shall a man give as an equivalent for his soul? ³⁸ For whosoever is ashamed of Me and My words among this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him, whenever He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels."
