1 Saul had pleasure in his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the congregation which was at Jerusalem, and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Jewry and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Then devout men dressed Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.
3 But Saul made havoc of the congregation, entering into every house: and drew out both man and woman, and thrust them into prison.
