Whereupon Asa fetched out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent it to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, and said,
"There is a confederation between me and thee, and so was between my father and thine, wherefore I have sent thee silver and gold, that thou go and break thine covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me."
And Benhadad granted unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his army against the cities of Israel. And they beat Ijon, Dan, Abelmaim and all the store cities of Naphtali.
And when Baasha heard that, he left building of Ramah and let his work cease.
And then Asa the king took all Judah and carried away and stones and timber of Ramah wherewith Baasha was a-building: and he built therewith Geba and Mizphah.
