Matthew 14:22-33

MLV(i) 22 And immediately, Jesus urged the disciples to step into the ship, and to precede him to the area beyond-that, until he should dismiss the crowds. 23 And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up into the mountain privately to pray. Now when it became evening, he was alone there. 24 But the ship was already in the midst of the sea, was being tormented by the waves; for the wind was adverse. 25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking upon the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking upon the sea, they were disturbed, saying, It is an apparition, and they cried out from their fear.
27 But Jesus immediately spoke to them, saying, Have courage; it is I; do not be afraid.
28 Now Peter having answered to him, said, Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you upon the waters.
29 Now he said, Come.
And Peter went down from the ship, and walked upon the waters to go toward Jesus. 30 But he was afraid, seeing the strong wind, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.
31 Now Jesus immediately stretched out his hand, and grabbed him, and says to him, You of small faith, why were you skeptical?
32 And when they stepped into the ship, the wind pauses. 33 Now those in the ship came to him and, worshiped him, saying, You are truly the Son of God.
