Luke 15:11-24

MLV^{(i) 11} Now he said, A certain man had two sons. ¹² And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the part of the estate that would be put toward me. And he sections off his livelihood to them. ¹³ And not many days after, the younger son gathered it all together and went-abroad into a far region, and he squandered his estate with riotous living there. ¹⁴ Now having spent all, there became a mighty famine throughout that region, and he began to have lack of things. ¹⁵ And he traveled and joined himself to one of the citizens of that region, and he sent him into his field to feed swine. ¹⁶ And he was desiring to fill his belly from the carob pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. ¹⁷ Now having come to himself, he said, How many of my father’s hired servants are abounding, even of bread? But I am perishing here in famine! ¹⁸ After having risen up, I will be traveling to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned at heaven, and in your sight. ¹⁹ I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants. \ulnone\nosupersub ²⁰ And standing up, he came to his father. But while he was still distant, far from him, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell upon his neck and kissed him. ²¹ But the son said to him, Father, I have sinned at heaven, and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.
²² But the father said to his bondservants, Bring out the foremost robe and clothe him, and give him a ring for his hand and shoes for his feet; ²³ and when you have brought the fattened calf, sacrifice it, and when we eat it, we should be joyous. ²⁴ Because this one, my son, was dead and then lived again, and was perishing and then was found. And they began to be joyous.
