Luke 7:6-8 So Jesus journeyed on with them. But at His already being then not far distant from the house, the centurion sent friends, to be presently saying to Him, "O sir (or: Lord; master), do not continue being bothered (or: having to take the trouble) with this, for I am not fit (or: qualified = ceremonially clean; or: important enough; of sufficient social standing) that you should enter under my roof (or: covering).

JMNT⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁶ So Jesus journeyed on with them. But at His already being then not far distant from the house, the centurion sent friends, [to be] presently saying to Him, "O sir (or: Lord; master), do not continue being bothered (or: having to take the trouble) [with this], for I am not fit (or: qualified [= ceremonially clean]; or: [important] enough; of sufficient [social standing]) that you should enter under my roof (or: covering). ⁷ "For this reason, neither do I consider myself worthy to come to you, but rather, speak by a message (or: in a communication; with a word), and let my servant be healed. ⁸ "You see I, myself, am a person continuing being set in order under authority – continuing in holding (or: having) soldiers under me. And so I normally am saying to this one, 'Be on your way,' and he proceeds on his way; and to another one, 'Be coming now,' and he proceeds coming; and to my slave, 'Do this at once,' and he proceeds to do [it]."
