2 Therefore they made him a supper there; and Martha waited: but Lazarus was one of those who sat at table with him.
3 Then Mary taking a pound of unadulterated balm of nard, very valuable, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
4 Then said one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, who was preparing to betray him,
5 Wherefore was not this aromatic ointment sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor?
6 Now he said this, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and kept the purse, and carried the money put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: for the day of my burial hath she reserved this.
8 For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.
