John 19:31-37 The Iewes therfore because it was the preparing of the Sabboth, that the bodyes shuld not remayne vpon the crosse on the sabboth daye (for that sabboth daye was an hye daye) besought Pilate, that their legges might be broken and that they might be taken downe.

And he knoweth that he sayth true, that ye might beleue also. ³⁶ For these thinges were done, that the scripture shulde be fulfylled. Ye shall not breake a bone of him. ³⁷ And agayne another scripture sayeth: they shal loke on him, whom they pearsed.
