ECB⁽ⁱ⁾ ²³ - and he oaths to her, Whatever you ask of me, I give You, to the half of my sovereigndom. ²⁴ And she goes, and says to her mother, What ask I? And she says, The head of Yahn the Baptizer. ²⁵ And straightway she enters with diligence to the sovereign and asks, wording, I will that you give me, immediately on a platter, the head of Yahn the Baptizer. ²⁶ And the sovereign becomes extremely sorrowful; yet for sake of his oath, and for the sakes of them who repose with him, he wills to not set her aside.
