THE BOUNDARIES OF YAH HUDAH And so be it, the pebble for the rod of the sons of Yah Hudah for their families: the border of Edom to the wilderness of Sin southward is the extremity of the southward border: 2 and their south border is from the end of the salt sea from the tongue at the face southward: 3 and goes to the south side to Maaleh Acrabbim and passes along to Sin and ascends on the south side to Qadesh Barnea and passes along to Hesron and ascends to Addar and turns around to Qarqa 4 and passes toward Asmon and goes to the wadi of Misrayim: and the exits of that border are at the sea. - this is your southward border. 5 And the east border: the salt sea to the end of Yarden. And the border in the north edge: from the tongue of the sea at the extremity of Yarden; 6 and the border ascends to Beth Chogla and passes along by the north of Beth Arabah; and the border ascends to the stone of Bohan the son of Reu Ben; 7 and the border ascends toward Debir from the valley of Achor and so northward at the face of Gilgal in front of the Ascent of Adummim on the south side of the wadi: and the border passes toward the waters of En Shemesh; and the exits thereof are at En Rogel; 8 and the border ascends by the valley of the son of Hinnom/Burning to the south shoulder of the Yebusiy which is Yeru Shalem; and the border ascends to the top of the mountain at the face of the valley of Hinnom/Burning seaward at the end of Gaymek Rephaim northward; 9 and the border is surveyed from the top of the mountain to the fountain of Mayim Nephtoach and goes to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border is surveyed to Baal Ah which is Qiryath Arim; 10 and the border goes all around from Baal Ah seaward to mount Seir and passes along to the shoulder of mount Yearim which is Kesalon, on the north; and descends to Beth Shemesh and passes on to Timnah; 11 and the border goes to the shoulder of Eqron northward; and the border is surveyed to Shikkeron and passes along to mount Baal Ah and goes to Yabne El; and the exits of the border are at the sea. 12 And the seaward border: to the great sea and the border thereof. - this is the border of the sons of Yah Hudah all around according to their families. 13 And he gives Kaleb the son of Yephunneh an allotment among the sons of Yah Hudah according to the mouth of Yah Veh to Yah Shua: Qiryath Arba the father of Anaq, which is Hebron. 14 And Kaleb dispossesses thence the three sons of Anaq, Sheshay and Achiy Man and Talmay - birthed of Anaq: 15 and he ascends thence to the settlers of Debir: and the former name of Debir was Qiryath Sepher. 16 And Kaleb says, He who smites Qiryath Sepher and captures it, I give him Achsah my daughter to woman. 17 - and Othni El the son of Qenaz, the brother of Kaleb, captures it: and he gives him Achsah his daughter to woman. 18 And so be it, as she comes, she goads him to ask her father for a field: and she alights from her he burro; and Kaleb says to her, What - to you? 19 And she says, Give me a blessing; give me a south land; and give me fountains of water. - and he gives her the upper fountains and the nethermost fountains. 20 - the inheritance of the rod of the sons of Yah Hudah for their families. 21 And the extremity cities of the rod of the sons of Yah Hudah toward the border of Edom southward are Qabse El and Eder and Yagur 22 and Qinah and Dimonah and Adadah 23 and Qedesh and Hasor and Yithnan 24 and Ziph and Telem and Bealoth 25 and Hasor, Hadattah and Qerioth Hesron which is Hasor 26 Amam and Shema and Moladah 27 and Hasar Gaddah and Heshmon and Beth Palet 28 and Hasar Shual and Beer Sheba and Bizyoth Yah 29 Baal Ah and Iyim and Esem 30 and El Tolad and Kesil and Hormah 31 and Siqlag and Madmannah and Sansannah 32 and Lebaoth and Shilchim and Ayin and Rimmon. - all the cities with their courts are twenty-nine. 33 And in the lowland: Eshtaol and Sorah and Ashnah 34 and Zanoach and En Gannim Tappuach and En Am 35 Yarmuth and Adullam Sochoh and Azeqah 36 and Shaarayim and Adithayim and Gederah and Gederothayim - fourteen cities with their courts. 37 Senan and Hadashah and Migdal Gad 38 and Dilan and Mispeh and Yoqthe El 39 Lachish and Bosqath and Eglon 40 and Kabbon and Lachmam and Kithlish 41 and Gederoth Beth Dagon and Naamah and Maqqedah - sixteen cities with their courts. 42 Libnah and Ether and Ashan 43 and Yiphtach and Ashnah and Nesib 44 and Qeilah and Achzib and Mareshah - nine cities with their courts. 45 Eqron with her daughters and her courts; 46 from Eqron to the sea - all at the hand of Ashdod with their courts. 47 Ashdod with her daughters and her courts; Azzah with her daughters and her courts; to the wadi of Misrayim and the sea of the border thereof. 48 And in the mountains: Shamir and Yattir and Sochoh 49 and Dannah and Qiryath Sannah which is Debir 50 and Anab and Eshtemoh and Anim 51 and Goshen and Holon and Giloh - eleven cities with their courts. 52 Arab and Dumah and Eshan 53 and Yanim and Beth Tappuach and Apheqah 54 and Humtah and Qiryath Arba which is Hebron and Sior - nine cities with their courts. 55 Maon, Karmel and Ziph and Yuttah 56 and Yizre El and Yoqde Am and Zanoach 57 Qayin, Gibah and Timnah - ten cities with their courts. 58 Halchul, Beth Sur and Gedor 59 and Maarath and Beth Anoth and El Teqon - six cities with their courts. 60 Qiryath Baal which is Qiryath Arim and Rabbah - two cities with their courts. 61 In the wilderness: Beth Arabah, Middin and Sechachah 62 and Nibshan and Ir Ham Melach and En Gedi - six cities with their courts. 63 As for the Yebusiy, the settlers of Yeru Shalem, the sons of Yah Hudah cannot dispossess them; but the Yebusiy settle with the sons of Yah Hudah at Yeru Shalem to this day.
