Isaiah 51

ECB(i) 1
THE ETERNAL SALVATION OF SIYON
Hearken to me, you who pursue justness, you who seek Yah Veh: look to the rock whence you were hewn and to the quarry of the well whence you were bored: 2 look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who writhed you: I, for one, called him and blessed him and abounded him. 3 For Yah Veh sighs over Siyon: he sighs over all her parched areas; and he sets her wilderness as Eden and her plain as the garden of Yah Veh; rejoicing, yes, and cheerfulness are found therein - spread hands and the voice of psalm. 4 Hearken to me, O my people; and hearken to me, O my nation: for a torah proceeds from me and I rest my judgment for a light of the people. 5 My justness is near; my salvation and my arms go forth; they judge the people; the islands await me and on my arm they await. 6 Lift your eyes to the heavens and look to the earth beneath: for the heavens vanish as smoke and the earth wears out as clothes; and they who settle therein die as stingers: and my salvation is eternal, and my justness breaks not down. 7 Hearken to me, you who know justness, the people in whose heart my torah is; neither awe the reproach of men nor terrify of their revilings: 8 For the moth eats them as cloth and the moth eats them as wool: and my justness is eternal and my salvation from generation to generation. 9 Waken! Waken! Enrobe strength, O arm of Yah Veh! Waken as in the ancient days - in the generations eternal. Is it not you who hews Rahab/pride? - piercing the monster? 10 Is it not you who parches the sea - the waters of the great abyss? Who sets the depths of the sea - a way for the redeemed to pass over? 11 And the redeemed of Yah Veh return and come with shouting to Siyon; with eternal cheerfulness on their head: they attain rejoicing and cheerfulness; grief and sighing flee away. 12 I - I - he who sighs over you. Who are you to awe a man who dies? and, of the son of humanity, given as grass? 13 And forgets Yah Veh your worker who spread the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth? - who feared continually every day at the face of the fury of the oppressor as if he were prepared to ruin? And where is the fury of the oppressor? 14 The stroller hastens to be loosed that he neither dies in the pit of ruin nor that he lacks bread. 15 And I - Yah Veh your Elohim, who split the sea; who roared the waves: Yah Veh Sabaoth is his name. 16 And I set my words in your mouth; and I covered you in the shadow of my hand to plant the heavens and to lay the foundations of the earth, and to say to Siyon, You are my people. 17
THE CUP OF THE FURY OF YAH VEH
Waken! Waken! Rise, O Yeru Shalem who, at the hand of Yah Veh, drank the cup of his fury; the chalice of the cup of staggering you drank and wrung out. 18 There is neither one to guide her among all the sons whom she birthed; nor is there any, of all the sons she nourished, who holds her by the hand. 19 These two confront you. Who wags over you? Ravage and breaking and the famine and the sword! Who except me sighs over you? 20 Your sons languish; they lie at the head of all the outways as an antelope in a net: they are full of the fury of Yah Veh - the rebuke of your Elohim. 21 So I beseech, hear this, O humbled and intoxicated - but not with wine. 22 Thus says your Adonay Yah Veh, and your Elohim who pleads the cause of his people, Behold, I take the cup of staggering from your hand - the chalice of the cup of my fury; add not to drink it again: 23 and I set it in the hand of them who grieve you; who say to your soul, Prostrate, and we pass over: and you set your back as the earth, and as the outway, to them who pass over.
