THE BURDEN OF MISRAYIM
The burden of Misrayim: Behold, Yah Veh rides upon a swift thick cloud and comes to Misrayim: and the idols of Misrayim totter at his face, and the heart of Misrayim melts in its midst: 2 and I hedge the Misrayim against the Misrayim: and every man fights against his brother and every one against his friend; - city against city and sovereigndom against sovereigndom: 3 and evacuate the spirit of Misrayim in its midst; and I swallow up the counsel: and they seek to the idols and to the spiritists and to necromancers and to the knowers: 4 and I shut the Misrayim into the hand of hard adonim; and a strong sovereign reigns over them - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth. 5 And the waters from the sea dry and the river parches and withers: 6 and they turn away the rivers afar and the rivers of rampart languish and parch: the stalks and reeds wither: 7 the nakednesses by the rivers - by the mouth of the rivers, and every plant by the rivers, withers, disperses, and is not: 8 and the fishers mourn, and all who cast hooks into the rivers mourn, and who spread nets upon the face of the waters languish: 9 they who serve in drawn flax, and they who weave white linen, shame: 10 and all who hire to work marshes for souls become crushed in the purposes. 11 Surely the governors of Soan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Paroh become brutish: how say you to Paroh, I am the son of the wise - the son of ancient sovereigns? 12 Where are they? Where are your wise? Yes, have them tell you, I beseech, and have them know what Yah Veh Sabaoth counselled upon Misrayim. 13 The governors of Soan become folly; the governors of Noph become deceived; they also stray the Misrayim - the chiefs of her scions. 14 Yah Veh mixes a spirit of perversities in their midst: and they stray Misrayim in every work as an intoxicate staggering in his vomit; 15 there is no work for Misrayim, for the head or tail, palm leaf or rush, to work. 16 In that day, Misrayim becomes as women: and trembles and fears at the face of the waving of the hand which Yah Veh Sabaoth shakes over it. 17 And the soil of Yah Hudah becomes a terror to Misrayim; every one who remembers fears for himself at the face of the counsel Yah Veh Sabaoth counselled against it. 18 In that day, five cities in the land of Misrayim speak the lip of Kenaan, and oath to Yah Veh Sabaoth; of one is said, The city of demolition. 19 In that day, there is a sacrifice altar to Yah Veh monolith beside the border to Yah Veh: 20 and it is for a sign and for a witness to Yah Veh Sabaoth in the land of Misrayim: for they cry to Yah Veh at the face of the oppressors and he sends them a saviour - great; and he rescues them. 21 And Yah Veh is known to Misrayim; and the Misrayim know Yah Veh in that day, and serve sacrifice and offerings; yes, they vow a vow and shalam to Yah Veh: 22 and Yah Veh smites Misrayim - he smites and heals it: and they return to Yah Veh, and they intreat him; and he heals them. 23 In that day, there is a highway from Misrayim to Ashshur: and the Ashshuri come to Misrayim and the Misrayim to Ashshur, and the Misrayim serve with the Ashshuri. 24 In that day, Yisra El becomes the third with Misrayim and with Ashshur - a blessing midst the land: 25 whom Yah Veh Sabaoth blesses, saying, Blessed - Misrayim my people; and Ashshur the work of my hands; and Yisra El my inheritance.
