Ezra 5

ECB(i) 1
THE BUILDING OF THE HOUSE OF YAH VEH IS STARTED
Then the prophets, Haggay the prophet and Zechar Yah the son of Iddo, prophesy to the Yah Hudiym in Yah Hudah and Yeru Shalem in the name of the Elah of Yisra El - to them. 2 Then Zerub Babel the son of Shealti El and Yah Shua the son of Yah Sadaq rise and release to build the house of Elah at Yeru Shalem: and the prophets of Elah with them - uphold them. 3 At the same appointment Tattenay the governor on this side the river and Shethar Bozenay and their colleagues come to them and say thus to them, Who set you a decree to build this house and to finish this wall? 4 Then we say to them thus: What are the names of the men who build this building? 5 But the eye of their Elah is on the elders of the Yah Hudiym, that they not stop them until the decree is brought to Daryavesh: and then they respond by epistle concerning this. 6
THE EPISTLE OF TATTENAY TO DARYAVESH
The transcript of the epistle Tattenay governor on this side the river and Shethar Bozenay and his colleagues the Apharsechiy on this side the river send to Daryavesh the sovereign: 7 they send him a decision midst which is inscribed thus: To Daryavesh the sovereign, all shalom. 8 Thus be it known to the sovereign, we go into the jurisdiction of Yah Hudah, to the great house of Elah - built with round stones and timber set in the walls: and this service keeps on diligently and prospers in their hands. 9 Then we ask those elders and say to them thus: Who set you a decree to build this house and to finish these walls? 10 And also, we asked their names, so that you know we inscribed the names of the men - their heads. 11 And thus they return us a decision, saying, We are the servants of Elah of the heavens and earth: and build the house built prior these many years, which a great sovereign of Yisra El built and finished. 12 Except after that, our fathers quivered Elah of the heavens, he gave them into the hand of Nebukadnets Tsar the sovereign of Babel - the Kasdiy who demolished this house and exiled the people into Babel: 13 but in the first year of Koresh the sovereign of Babel, sovereign Koresh set a decree to build this house of Elah: 14 and also the vessels of gold and silver of the house of Elah, which Nebukadnets Tsar removed from the manse in Yeru Shalem and brought into the manse of Babel, which Koresh the sovereign removed from the manse of Babel: and they were given to one; his name, Sheshbats Tsar, whom he set governor; 15 and says to him, Lift these vessels! Go, deposit them in the manse in Yeru Shalem: and build the house of Elah in his place: 16 then this Sheshbats Tsar comes and lays the foundation of the house of Elah in Yeru Shalem: and from then even until now is being built and is not shalamed. 17 And now, if it is good to the sovereign, search in the treasure house of the sovereign at Babel, whether there is a decree set by Koresh the sovereign to build this house of Elah at Yeru Shalem: and send us the intentions of the sovereign concerning this matter.
