THE WORD OF YAH VEH CONCERNING IDOLATROUS ELDERS
And men of the elders of Yisra El come to me and sit at my face: 2 and so be the word of Yah Veh to me, saying, 3 Son of humanity, these men ascend their idols in their heart, and give the stumblingblock of their perversity at their face: Inquire they at all of me? 4 So word to them, and say to them, Thus says Adonay Yah Veh: Man by man of the house of Yisra El who ascends his idols in his heart, and sets the stumblingblock of his perversity at his face, and goes to the prophet; I Yah Veh give him who goes an answer according to the abundance of his idols: 5 so that I apprehend the house of Yisra El in their own heart; because, through their idols, they all estrange from me. 6 So say to the house of Yisra El, Thus says Adonay Yah Veh: Turn - turn from your idols; and turn from your faces - from all your abhorrences: 7 for each man of the house of Yisra El or of the sojourner who sojourns in Yisra El, who separates himself from after me, and ascends his idols in his heart, and sets the stumblingblock of his perversity at his face, and goes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning me; I Yah Veh answer him by myself: 8 and I give my face against that man and desolate him - a sign and a proverb and I cut him off from midst my people; and you know I - Yah Veh. 9 And if the prophet, when he is deluded, and words a word, I Yah Veh delude that prophet, and I spread my hand on him, and desolate him from midst my people Yisra El. 10 And they bear their perversity: the perversity of the prophet even as the perversity of him who inquires; 11 that the house of Yisra El neither stray from me any more nor foul with all their rebellions any more; and that they become my people and I become their Elohim - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh. 12 And so be the word of Yah Veh to me, saying, 13 Son of humanity, when the land sins against me in treasoning a treason, then I spread my hand thereon and break the rod of the bread and send famine thereon; and cut off humanity and animal from it: 14 and there are three men in the midst, - Noach, Dani El, and Iyob who rescued their own souls by their justness - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh. 15 If I pass evil live beings through the land, and they bereave, and it becomes desolate, so that no man passes through at the face of the live beings 16 - these three men in the midst thereof, I live - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh they rescue neither sons nor daughters; they only are rescued, and the land becomes desolate. 17 Or, I bring a sword on that land, and say, Sword, pass through the land; so that I cut off humanity and animal from it: 18 and these three men in the midst thereof - I live - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh they rescue neither sons nor daughters, for they only are rescued. 19 Or, I send a pestilence into that land and pour my fury thereon in blood - to cut off humanity and animal therefrom: 20 and Noach, Dani El, and Iyob are in the midst - I live - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh they rescue neither son nor daughter; they rescue their own souls by their justness. 21 For thus says Adonay Yah Veh; How much more when I send my four evil judgments on Yeru Shalem - the sword and the famine and the evil live being and the pestilence - to cut it off from humanity and animal? 22 Yet behold, escapees remain therein to bring out sons and daughters: behold, they come to you; and you see their way and their exploits: and you sigh concerning the evil I bring on Yeru Shalem concerning all I bring thereon: 23 and they sigh over you when you see their ways and their exploits: and you know, I work not gratuitously all that I work therein - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh.
