HAMAN PLOTS AGAINST THE YAH HUDIY
After these words sovereign Achash Rosh greatens Haman the son of Medatha the Agagiy and lifts him and sets his seat above all the governors with him. 2 And all the servants of the sovereign in the portal of the sovereign bow and prostrate to Haman; for thus the sovereign misvahs concerning him. - and Mordekay neither bows nor prostrates. 3 And the servants of the sovereign in the portal of the sovereign say to Mordekay, Why trespass you the misvah of the sovereign? 4 And so be it, day by day they say to him; and he hearkens not to them, and they tell Haman to see whether the words of Mordekay stand; for he had told them that he is a Yah Hudiy. 5 And Haman sees that Mordekay neither bows nor prostrates to him; and Haman fills with fury: 6 and it is despicable in his eyes to send forth hands on Mordekay by himself; for they tell him of the people of Mordekay; and Haman seeks to desolate all the Yah Hudiym throughout the whole sovereigndom of Achash Rosh - the people of Mordekay. 7 In the first month - the month Nisan in the twelfth year of sovereign Achash Rosh, they fell Pur, that is, the pebble, at the face of Haman from day to day and from month to month to the twelfth - that is, the month Adar. 8 And Haman says to sovereign Achash Rosh, There is one people scattered and spread among the people in all the jurisdictions of your sovereigndom; and their edicts are diverse from all people; they work not the edicts of the sovereign; and it equates not that the sovereign allow them. 9 If it be good with the sovereign, inscribe to destroy them; and I weigh ten thousand rounds of silver to the hands of the workers of the work to bring it into the treasuries of the sovereign. 10 And the sovereign twists his signet from his hand and gives it to Haman the son of Medatha the Agagiy the tribulator of the Yah Hudiym. 11 And the sovereign says to Haman, The silver is given to you - the people also to work with them as is good in your eyes. 12 Then they call the scribes of the sovereign on the thirteenth of the first month; and they inscribe according to all that Haman misvahed to the satraps of the sovereign and to the governors over jurisdiction by jurisdiction; and to the governors of people by people of jurisdiction by jurisdiction; according to the inscribings thereof; and to people by people after their tongue; inscribed in the name of sovereign Achash Rosh and sealed with the signet of the sovereign. 13 And they send scrolls by the hand of runners into all the jurisdictions of the sovereign - to desolate, to slaughter and to destroy all Yah Hudiym - from lad to old man, toddlers and women, in one day, upon the thirteenth of the twelfth month - the month Adar and spoil their plunder; 14 the transcript of the inscribings for an edict to be given jurisdiction by jurisdiction is exposed to all people to be ready against that day. 15 The runners go, hastened by the word of the sovereign and the edict is given in Shushan palace. And the sovereign and Haman sit to drink; and the city Shushan is perplexed.
