8 there is one; and there is no second: yes, he has neither son nor brother; yet he neither ends his toil nor satisfies his eye with riches: For whom toil I, that my soul lacks good? This is also vanity; yes, an evil drudgery.
9 Two are better than one because they have a good hire for their toil;
10 for if they fall, the one raises his companion: but woe to the one when he falls, who has no second to raise him.
11 Yes, if two lie together, they heat; but how warms the one?
12 And if one prevails against him, two withstand him: a triple thread is not quickly torn.
