1 Kings 15:8-24

ECB(i) 8 and Abi Yam lies down with his fathers; and they entomb him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigns in his stead. 9
THE REIGN OF ASA OVER YAH HUDAH
And in the twentieth year of Yarob Am sovereign of Yisra El Asa reigns over Yah Hudah: 10 and he reigns forty-one years in Yeru Shalem. And the name of his mother, Maachah the daughter of Abi Shalom. 11 And Asa works straight in the eyes of Yah Veh as David his father: 12 and he passes the hallowed whoremongers from the land, and turns aside all the idols his fathers worked: 13 and also turns aside his mother Maachah from being lady, because she worked an idol of awe in an asherah; and Asa cuts off her idol of awe and burns it by the wadi Qidron: 14 and the bamahs are not turned aside: only, the heart of Asa is at shalom with Yah Veh all his days: 15 and he brings in the holies of his father and his own holies to the house of Yah Veh - silver and gold and instruments. 16 And so be it, war between Asa and between Basha sovereign of Yisra El all their days: 17 and Basha sovereign of Yisra El ascends against Yah Hudah and builds Ramah that he gives no one to go or to come to Asa sovereign of Yah Hudah: 18 and Asa takes all the silver and the gold remaining in the treasures of the house of Yah Veh, and the treasures of the house of the sovereign, and gives them to the hand of his servants: and sovereign Asa sends them to Ben Hadad the son of Tab Rimon the son of Hezyon sovereign of Aram; who settles at Dammeseq, saying, 19 There is a covenant between me and between you, and between my father and between your father: behold, I sent you a bribe of silver and gold; come and break your covenant with Basha sovereign of Yisra El, so that he ascends from me. 20 So Ben Hadad hearkens unto sovereign Asa, and sends the governors of his valiant against the cities of Yisra El; and smites Iyon and Dan and Abel Beth Maachah and all Kinneroth with all the land of Naphtali. 21 And so be it, Basha hears, and he ceases building Ramah and settles in Tirsah. 22 Then sovereign Asa has all Yah Hudah hear - none is exonerated: and they lift the stones of Ramah, and the timber wherewith Basha built; and with them, sovereign Asa builds Geba of Ben Yamin and Mispeh. 23 The rest of all the words of Asa, and all his might, and all he worked, and the cities he built, are they not inscribed in the scroll of the words of the days of the sovereigns of Yah Hudah? Only, in the time of his old age he was sick in his feet: 24 and Asa lies down with his fathers and is entombed with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Yah Shaphat his son reigns in his stead.
