Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two having heard from John and having followed Him.
He first finds the own brother Simon and says to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated Christ).
He led him to Jesus. Having looked at him, Jesus said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You will be called Cephas” (which means Peter).
On the next day He desired to go forth into Galilee. And He finds Philip. And Jesus says to him, “Follow Me.”
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, from the city of Andrew and Peter.
Philip Finds Nathanael and says to him, “We have found Him whom Moses wrote of in the Law, also the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
And Nathanael said to him, “Is any good thing able to be out of Nazareth?” Philip says to him, “Come and see.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and He says concerning him, “Behold, truly an Israelite, in whom there is no deceit.”
Nathanael says to Him, “From where do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip calling you, you being under the fig tree, I saw you.”
Nathanael answered Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God; You are King of Israel.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
And He says to him, “Truly, truly, I say to all of you, you will see the heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”
