Matthew 27:15-18 Κατὰ (At) δὲ (now) ἑορτὴν (the feast), εἰώθει (was accustomed) ὁ (the) ἡγεμὼν (governor) ἀπολύειν (to release) ἕνα (one) τῷ (to the) ὄχλῳ (multitude) δέσμιον (prisoner), ὃν (whom) ἤθελον (they were wishing).

BIB⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁵ Κατὰ (At) δὲ (now) ἑορτὴν (the feast), εἰώθει (was accustomed) ὁ (the) ἡγεμὼν (governor) ἀπολύειν (to release) ἕνα (one) τῷ (to the) ὄχλῳ (multitude) δέσμιον (prisoner), ὃν (whom) ἤθελον (they were wishing). ¹⁶ εἶχον (They were holding) δὲ (now) τότε (at that time) δέσμιον (a prisoner) ἐπίσημον (notable), λεγόμενον (called) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas). ¹⁷ συνηγμένων (Being gathered together) οὖν (therefore) αὐτῶν (of them), εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Τίνα (Whom) θέλετε (will you that) ἀπολύσω (I shall release) ὑμῖν (to you)? τὸν› (-) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas), ἢ (or) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), τὸν (who) λεγόμενον (is called) Χριστόν (Christ)?” ¹⁸ ᾔδει (He knew) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) διὰ (through) φθόνον (envy) παρέδωκαν (they delivered up) αὐτόν (him).
