2 καὶ (And) ἐξελθόντος (having gone forth) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) πλοίου (boat), εὐθὺς (immediately) ὑπήντησεν (met) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐκ (out of) τῶν (the) μνημείων (tombs) ἄνθρωπος (a man) ἐν (with) πνεύματι (a spirit) ἀκαθάρτῳ (unclean),
3 ὃς (who) τὴν (the) κατοίκησιν (dwelling) εἶχεν (had) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) μνήμασιν (tombs). καὶ (And) οὐδὲ (not even) ἁλύσει (with chains) οὐκέτι (no longer) οὐδεὶς (anyone) ἐδύνατο (was able) αὐτὸν (him) δῆσαι (to bind),
4 διὰ (because) τὸ (that) αὐτὸν (he) πολλάκις (often) πέδαις (with shackles) καὶ (and) ἁλύσεσιν (chains) δεδέσθαι (had been bound), καὶ (and) διεσπάσθαι (had been torn in two) ὑπ’ (by) αὐτοῦ (him) τὰς (the) ἁλύσεις (chains), καὶ (and) τὰς (the) πέδας (shackles) συντετρῖφθαι (had been shattered), καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἴσχυεν (was able) αὐτὸν (him) δαμάσαι (to subdue).
5 καὶ (And) διὰ (constantly) παντὸς (all) νυκτὸς (night) καὶ (and) ἡμέρας (day) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) μνήμασιν (tombs) καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) ὄρεσιν (mountains) ἦν (he was) κράζων (crying out) καὶ (and) κατακόπτων (cutting) ἑαυτὸν (himself) λίθοις (with stones).
