15 H559 Because ye have said, H3772 We have made H1285 a covenant H4194 with death, H7585 and with Sheol H6213 are we H2374 at agreement; H7857 when the overflowing H7752 scourge H5674 shall pass through, H935 it shall not come H7760 unto us; for we have made H3577 lies H4268 our refuge, H8267 and under falsehood H5641 have we hid ourselves:

16 H559 therefore thus saith H136 the Lord H3069 Jehovah, H3245 Behold, I lay H6726 in Zion H68 for a foundation a stone, H976 a tried H68 stone, H3368 a precious H6438 corner- H3245 stone of sure H4143 foundation: H539 he that believeth H2363 shall not be in haste.

17 H7760 And I will make H4941 justice H6957 the line, H6666 and righteousness H4949 the plummet; H1259 and the hail H3261 shall sweep away H4268 the refuge H3577 of lies, H4325 and the waters H7857 shall overflow H5643 the hiding-place.

18 H1285 And your covenant H4194 with death H3722 shall be annulled, H2380 and your agreement H7585 with Sheol H6965 shall not stand; H7857 when the overflowing H7752 scourge H5674 shall pass through, H4823 then ye shall be trodden down by it.
