ABU(i)
For they who dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, not knowing him, nor the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, fulfilled them in condemning him.
And though they found no cause of death, they demanded of Pilate that he should be slain.
And when they had fulfilled all the things written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a tomb.
But God raised him from the dead.
And he was seen for many days by those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses unto the people.
And we declare to you glad tidings of the promise made to the fathers,
that God has fulfilled this to us their children, in raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm: Thou art my Son; I this day have begotten thee.
And that he raised him up from the dead to return no more to corruption, he has thus spoken: I will give to you the holy, the sure promises of David.
Wherefore also in another psalm he says: Thou wilt not suffer thy Holy One to see corruption.
For David, having served his own generation according to the purpose of God, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.
But he, whom God raised, saw not corruption.
