Isaiah 14

YAH VEH MERCIES YAAQOV
Because Yah Veh mercies Yaaqov, and yet chooses Yisra El, and sets them in their own soil: and the sojourners join with them and scrape them to the house of Yaaqov: 2 and the people take them and bring them to their place: and the house of Yisra El inherits them in the soil of Yah Veh for servants and maids: captives of their captors; and they subjugate to their exactors. 3 And so be it, in the day Yah Veh rests you from your contortion, and from your quivering, and from the hard service served on you 4 - to lift this proverb against the sovereign of Babel, and say, How the exactor shabbathizes! The extortioners of gold shabbathize! 5 Yah Veh breaks the rod of the wicked - the scion of the sovereigns: 6 he who smote the people in wrath with a stroke without revolt, who subjugates the goyim in wrath persecutes; spares no one. 7 At rest - the whole earth rests; they break forth into shouting: 8 Yes, the fir trees cheer at you - the cedars of Lebanon. Since you lay down, no cutter ascends against us: 9 sheol from beneath quakes for you to meet you at your coming: it wakens the ghost for you all the he goats of the earth; it raises from their thrones all the sovereigns of the goyim. 10 They all answer and say to you, Become you also worn as we? Become you like us? 11 Your pomp is brought down to sheol with the sound of your bagpipes: the maggot spreads under you and the maggots cover you. 12
THE HALALED ONE
How you fell from the heavens, O Halaled one, son of the dawn - cut down to the earth: who vanquished the goyim! 13 For you said in your heart, I ascend into the heavens: I exalt my throne above the stars of El: and I sit upon the mount of the congregation in the flanks of the north: 14 I ascend above the bamahs of the thick clouds - like Elyon. 15 Surely you are brought down to sheol - to the flanks of the well. 16 They who see you peer at you, discerning, Is this the man who quakes the earth? Who quakes sovereigndoms? 17 Who sets the world as a wilderness? And demolishes the cities? Who opens not the house of his bound? 18 All the sovereigns of the goyim - all of them lie in honor, every man in his own house. cp Yahn 12:31, Loukas 10:18, Apocalypse 12:7-12 19 And you are cast from your tomb as an abhorrent branch; and as the robe of the slaughtered stabbed with a sword; descending to the stones of the well; as a carcase trampled. 20 You unite not with them in the tomb - because you ruined your land and slaughtered your people: the seed of vilifiers is never called out - eternally. 21 Prepare slaughter for his sons for the perversity of their fathers; that they neither rise nor possess the land nor fill the face of the world with cities. 22 For I rise against them - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth and from Babel I cut off the name and survivors and offspring and posterity - an oracle of Yah Veh. 23 I set it a possession for the bittern, and marshes of water: and I sweep it with the broom of desolation - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth. 24
THE BURDEN OF ASHSHUR
Yah Veh Sabaoth oaths, saying, Surely as I consider, so be it; and as I counsel, so it rises: 25 that I break the Ashshuri in my land, and trample him upon my mountains: and turn aside his yoke from off them and turn aside his burden from off their shoulders. 26 This is the counsel counselled upon the whole earth: and this is the hand spread upon all the goyim. 27 For Yah Veh Sabaoth counsels, and who breaks it? and his hand spreads, and who turns it back? 28
THE BURDEN OF PELESHETH
In the year sovereign Ach Az dies, - this burden: 29 You, cheer not Pelesheth - all of you because the scion of him who smote you is broken: for from the root of the serpent comes forth a hisser; and his fruit is a flying seraph. 30 And the firstbirthed of the poor graze and the needy crouch confidently: and I kill your root with famine and he slaughters your survivors. 31 Howl, O portal! Cry, O city! You are dissolved, Pelesheth, all of you: for from the north comes smoke, and no one is alone in his seasons. 32 What then, answers one, of the angels of the goyim? That Yah Veh founded Siyon, and the humble of his people seek refuge therein.
