Deuteronomy 29:16-18 For you know that we had dwelt in the country of Egypt and that we had passed among the nations whom you passed;

CLV⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁶ For you know that we had dwelt in the country of Egypt and that we had passed among the nations whom you passed; ¹⁷ and you saw their abominations and their idol clods, those of wood and stone, of silver and gold, which were with them.. ¹⁸ Beware lest there may be among you a man or woman or family or tribe whose heart today is turning around from being with Yahweh our Elohim to go to serve the elohim of those nations; beware lest there may be among you a root, being fruitful with poison and wormwood.
