1 First of all, therefore, I exhort entreaties, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings, to be made on behalf of all men
2 for kings and all those being in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
3 This is good and acceptable before God our Savior,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6 the One having given Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony in their own proper times,
7 in regard to which I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am speaking the truth; I do not lie—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Therefore I desire the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, apart from anger and dissension.
9 Likewise also women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing,
10 but with what is becoming to women, professing the fear of God through good works.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness, in all submissiveness.
12 But I do not permit a woman to teach, nor to use authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, has come into transgression.
15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if they abide in faith and love and holiness, with self-restraint.
