³⁵ And after they had fixed Him to the cross, they parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

²⁴ And when they had fastened Him to the cross, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what each of them should take. ²⁵ And it was the third hour, when they fixed Him on the cross: ²⁶ and the title of his charge was written over Him, THE KING OF THE JEWS. ²⁷ And they crucified two thieves with Him, one on his right hand and one on his left: ²⁸ so that the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, "And He was numbered with the transgressors." ²⁹ And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest, the temple, ³⁰ and buildest it in three days, save thyself and come down from the cross. ³¹ And the chief priests likewise scoffing at Him among themselves, with the scribes, said, He saved others, Himself He cannot save: let Christ, ³² the king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe in Him. And even they that were crucified with Him, reviled Him.

³⁴ And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his garments, and cast lots for them.

²³ And the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, (and made four parts, to each soldier a part,) and his coat. Now the coat had no seam in it, being woven from the top throughout: ²⁴ they said therefore to one another, Let us not cut it, but let us cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, "They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots." These things therefore the soldiers did.

²⁰ And when He had said this, He shewed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

²⁵ The other disciples therefore told him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and my hand into his side, I will not believe.

²⁷ Then saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands, and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not incredulous, but believing.

¹⁰ by what means he is cured, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, but whom God hath raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.
