³⁹ and knew not of it till the deluge came and took them all away; so shall be also the coming of the Son of man.

¹³ for this reason I speak to them in parables; because though they see, they will not see; and though they hear, they will not hear, nor understand. ¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, Ye shall hear by the hearing of the ear, and not understand; and in seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: for the heart of this people is grown stupid, ¹⁵ and their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; least they should see at all with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

³⁷ for as the days of Noah were, so shall be also the coming of the Son of man;

⁴⁴ and shall lay thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another: because thou didst not regard the time of thy visitation.

²⁰ For every one that doth evil, hateth the light; and he cometh not to the light, least his deeds should be reproved.

⁴¹ "Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and vanish; for I do a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though any one should declare it unto you."

²⁸ And as they were not careful to acknowledge God, God gave them up to an undiscerning mind to do things that were not fit to be done:

⁵ For they are willingly ignorant of this, that by the Word of God the heavens were made of old, and the earth too from the water, and subsisting on the water.
