²⁰ how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him.

¹ And as soon as it was morning all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, how to get Him executed: ² so they bound Him and led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the Roman governor.

²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the common people to ask for Barabbas, and so to destroy Jesus.

¹ And as soon as ever it was light the chief priests holding a consultation with the elders and scribes, they and the whole sanhedrim, bound Jesus, and carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.

⁶⁶ And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people, and chief-priests, and scribes, assembled together, and ordered Him up into their council:

¹³ And Pilate called together the chief priests, and the rulers,

¹³ The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and denied before Pilate, when he determined to release Him. ¹⁴ But ye refused the holy and righteous One, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you: ¹⁵ and put to death the prince of life; whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

⁸ Then Peter filled with the holy Spirit said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, ⁹ and elders of Israel, if we are this day examined about the benefit done to the impotent man, ¹⁰ by what means he is cured, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, but whom God hath raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.

²⁷ For of a truth both Herod and Pontius Pilate, the Gentiles and the people of Israel, combined against thy holy child Jesus, ²⁸ (whom Thou hast anointed,) to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel had before determined to be done.

³⁰ The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. ³¹ Him hath God exalted with his right hand as a prince and saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins:

²⁷ For the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and their rulers, not knowing Him, have indeed fulfilled the words of the prophets, which are read every sabbath-day, in condemning Him. ²⁸ And though they found in Him no capital offence, yet they desired of Pilate that He might be put to death. ²⁹ And when they had finished all things that were written concerning Him, they took Him down from the cross and laid Him in a tomb.
