¹ Jude a servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified in God the Father, and who are preserved and called in Jesus Christ; ² mercy, and peace, and love be multiplied unto you. ³ Beloved, having an earnest desire to write to you concerning the common salvation, I was under a necessity of writing to exhort you that ye would strive earnestly for the faith which was once delivered to the saints. ⁴ For there have crept in some men, who have been of old described as under this condemnation, impious people, that turn the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and deny God the only Lord, and our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁵ But I would remind you of this, which ye know already, that though the Lord saved the people out of the land of Egypt, yet He afterwards destroyed those that believed not: ⁶ and the angels that kept not their primitive state, but left their proper abode, hath He reserved in everlasting chains, under darkness, to the judgement of the great day: ⁷ as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them, in like manner with them committing lewdness, and going after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of perpetual fire. ⁸ So these vile dreamers also defile the flesh, despise authority, and speak evil of dignities. ⁹ Whereas Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, did not presume to bring against him a railing accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke thee." ¹⁰ But these men speak evil of what they know not: and what they know naturally, as brute animals, in these things they are corrupt. ¹¹ Wo unto them; for they have gone in the way of Cain, and been carried away by Balaam's error, the love of lucre, and perished as in the contradiction of Korah. ¹² These are spots in your love-feasts, feeding themselves without fear, when they are feasting with you: clouds without water, carried about by the winds; trees withered and without fruit, twice dead and rooted up; raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; ¹³ wandering stars, for whom blackness of darkness is reserved for ever. ¹⁴ And Enoch the seventh from Adam prophesied against these, saying, Behold the Lord cometh with his holy myriads, ¹⁵ to pass judgement upon all, and to convict all the ungodly among them of all their wicked works, which they have impiously committed, and of all the hard things which impious sinners have spoken against Him. ¹⁶ These are murmurers, complainers, who walk according to their own irregular desires; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, with admiration of certain persons for some advantage of their own. ¹⁷ But, beloved, remember the words which were formerly spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; for they told you, ¹⁸ that in the latter days there will be scoffers, walking according to their own impious lusts. ¹⁹ These are they who separate themselves, sensualists, not having the Spirit. ²⁰ But ye, beloved, edifying yourselves in your most holy faith, and praying in the holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, ²¹ looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. ²² And on some have compassion, making a difference; others save with fear, ²³ as snatching them out of the fire: hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. ²⁴ Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy: ²⁵ to the only wise God our Saviour be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever. Amen.

¹² rejoice and be exceeding glad; for great will be your reward in heaven: for so they persecuted the prophets, that were before you.

²⁹ and they cried out, saying, What have we to do with Thee, Jesus thou Son of God? Art Thou come hither to torment us before the time?

³ Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus who was surnamed Thaddeus;

²¹ Wo unto thee, Chorazin; wo unto thee, Bethsaida: for if the miracles wrought among you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes:

²⁴ Moreover I tell you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgement, than for thee.

³¹ Wherefore, I tell you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men; but the blasphemy against the holy Spirit shall not be forgiven them: ³² and if any one speak against the Son of man, it may be forgiven him: but if any one speak against the holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this life, nor in that to come. ³³ Either allow the tree to be good, and it's fruit good; or shew the tree to be corrupt, and it's fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by it's fruit. ³⁴ O race of vipers, how can ye speak good things, who are yourselves so wicked? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart produceth good things; and a wicked man out of the wicked treasure uttereth wicked things: ³⁶ but I tell you, that of every idle word, which men shall speak, they shall give an account in the day of judgement; for by thy words thou shalt be justified, ³⁷ and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

⁶ but when the sun rose, they were burnt up, and withered; because they had no root:

²⁵ but while men were asleep, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away.

¹³ But He answered and said, Every plantation which my heavenly Father hath not planted shall be rooted up.

²⁷ For the Son of man will come in the glory of his father, with his angels, and then he will recompense every one according to his practice.

²⁸ And Jesus said unto them, Verily I tell you, that ye who have followed me, in the regeneration, when the son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon the twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel:

¹⁹ and seeing a fig-tree by the way, He went up to it, and finding nothing upon it but leaves, He saith to it, Let no fruit ever hereafter grow out of thee: and the fig-tree withered immediately. ²⁰ And the disciples seeing it were amazed and said, How suddenly is the fig-tree withered!

¹³ But wo unto you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites, who shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, nor suffer those that are entering to go in. ¹⁴ Wo unto you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites; for ye devour widows houses, and for a cover make long prayers: therefore ye shall receive the heavier judgement. ¹⁵ Wo unto you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites: for ye compass sea and land to make a proselyte, and when he is gained, ye make him more the child of hell than yourselves. ¹⁶ Wo unto you, ye blind guides, who say, If any one swear by the temple, it is nothing;

³⁰ and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the land mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming as on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory: ³¹ and He will send forth his messengers with a trumpet of a loud voice, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

⁴² Watch therefore, for ye know not at what hour your Lord cometh: ⁴³ but this ye know, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broke open: therefore be ye also ready; ⁴⁴ for the Son of man cometh at a time that ye think not of. ⁴⁵ Who then is the faithful and prudent servant, whom his lord hath set over his family to give them food in due season? ⁴⁶ blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so employed: ⁴⁷ verily I tell you, that he will set him over his whole estate. ⁴⁸ But if that servant be wicked and say in his heart, my master delayeth his coming, ⁴⁹ and begin to beat his fellow-servants, and to revel with drunkards: ⁵⁰ the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doth not expect him, and in an hour which he knows not, ⁵¹ and will cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with hypocrites: where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

³¹ So when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon his glorious throne:

⁴¹ Then will He say also to those on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

⁴³ And if thy hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that will never be extinguished; ⁴⁴ where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁵ And if thy foot cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life lame, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the inextinguishable fire; ⁴⁶ where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁷ And if thine eye cause thee to offend, cast it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell-fire; ⁴⁸ where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. ⁴⁹ For every one shall be as it were salted by fire, and every sacrifice shall be seasoned as with salt.

²⁰ And in the morning, as they were passing by it, they saw the fig-tree withered from the roots. ²¹ And Peter remembring the tree, saith unto Him, Master, behold, the fig-tree which thou cursedst, is withered.

³⁰ And their scribes and pharisees murmured at his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

⁶ And some fell upon stony ground, and as soon as it sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

⁴² But wo unto you pharisees, who tithe even your mint, and rue, and all your herbs, and pass by judgement and the love of God: these ought ye to practise and not to omit the others. ⁴³ Wo unto you pharisees; for ye love the chief seat in synagogues, and salutations in public places. ⁴⁴ Wo unto you scribes and pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like graves that do not appear, and those that walk over them are not aware of them. ⁴⁵ And one of the doctors of the law answered and said unto Him, Master, in saying these things thou reproachest us also. ⁴⁶ And He said, Wo unto you also, ye interpreters of the law, for ye load men with insupportable burthens, and ye yourselves touch not the burthens with one of your fingers. ⁴⁷ Wo unto you; who build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast plenty of goods laid up for many years, take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. ²⁰ But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night shall thy soul be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?

³⁶ ye yourselves like men waiting for their lord's return from a wedding, that they may immediately open the door to him, when he comes and knocks. ³⁷ Happy are those servants, whom the master when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he will gird himself, and make them sit down, and will come and serve them. ³⁸ And if he come in the second watch, or in the third watch, and find them so, happy indeed are those servants. ³⁹ And this ye know, that if the master of a house had known at what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broke open: ⁴⁰ therefore be ye also ready; for the Son of man cometh at a season that ye think not of.

⁴⁵ But if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and begin to beat the men and maid-servants, and drink, and to be drunken:

² And the pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man entertaineth wicked persons, and eateth with them.

¹⁹ Now there was a certain rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, living voluptuously and splendidly every day.

²⁹ but the very day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

⁷ And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, He is gone to be guest with a wicked man.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

³⁴ Take heed to yourselves, least at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of life, and so that day should come upon you unawares:

³⁹ And one of the malefactors that were executed with Him reviled Him, saying, If thou be the Messiah, save thyself and us. ⁴⁰ But the other answered and rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God neither, when thou thyself art in the same condemnation?

¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ:

⁵ Jesus answered, I tell thee of a truth, Unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶ That, which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that, which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.

²² Ye worship ye know not what; but we worship what we know: for salvation is from the Jews.

²² For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath committed all judgement to the Son; ²³ that all men may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father: he, that honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father that sent Him.

²⁷ And hath given Him authority also to execute judgement, because He is the Son of man.

⁴⁴ How can ye believe, who receive applause from each other, and the glory which is from God only, ye seek not?

³⁹ And this is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all that He hath given me, I should lose none, but should raise them up at the last day.

⁴¹ The Jews then murmured about Him; because He said, I am the bread that came down from heaven.

⁶¹ But Jesus knowing in Himself, that his disciples were murmuring about it, said unto them, Does this offend you?

⁴⁴ Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such.

²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; nor shall any one force them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father who gave them to me, is greater than all: and therefore none is able to force them out of my Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one. Then the Jews again took up stones to stone Him.

²⁶ If any man would serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: and if any one serve me, him will my Father honour.

²¹ He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him. ²² Judas (not the Iscariot) saith unto Him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thy self to us, and not to the world?

⁴ Abide therefore in me, and I will abide in you: for as the branch cannot bear fruit of it self, unless it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in me, and I in him, beareth much fruit: but without me ye can do nothing. ⁶ If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a useless branch and withereth: and they gather them up, and throw them into the fire, and they are burnt.

⁹ As the Father hath loved me, and I have loved you, continue in my love: ¹⁰ and if ye keep my commandments ye will continue in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love.

¹⁶ Ye did not first choose me, but I chose you, and have appointed you to go forth, and bear fruit, and that your fruit should be lasting: that whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, He may give it you.

³ and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

¹¹ And as I am to be no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to Thee, Holy Father, keep by thy name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. ¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; I have preserved those whom Thou gavest me, and none of them is lost; except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

¹⁵ I do not pray that Thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil.

¹⁷ Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth.

¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth.

¹³ And when they were come in to the city, they went up into an upper room, where Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude the brother of James, usually abode.

²⁸ For he disputed vehemently with the Jews in public, proving by the scriptures, that Jesus was the Christ.

³² And now, my brethren, I recommend you to God, and to the word of his grace: who is able to edify you, and to give you an inheritance among all that are sanctified.

³⁵ I have shewed you in all things, that by labouring thus ye ought to support the infirm; and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, who said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

²¹ so that they are inexcusable; because having thus known God they glorified Him not as God, neither were they thankful; but were infatuated by their own reasonings, and their heart being void of understanding was darkened. ²² Pretending to be wise they Became fools:

²⁶ Therefore God gave them up to infamous passions: for even their women changed the natural use into that which is unnatural, ²⁷ and the men likewise, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust to one another, men with men committing shame, and receiving in themselves the recompence of their error which they deserved.

⁵ But by thy hardness and impenitence of heart thou art treasuring up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgement of God,

¹⁹ it saith to those under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world obnoxious to the justice of God. ²⁰ Wherefore by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before Him: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

⁵ and experience hope, and this hope maketh us not ashamed; because the love of God is diffused in our hearts by the holy Spirit that is given to us.

²¹ so grace might reign through righteousness, unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? ² God forbid! how shall we, who are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

²² But now being set free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. ²³ For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if the Spirit of God dwelleth in you: but if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

¹⁵ For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

²⁶ And the Spirit likewise helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for, as we ought: but the Spirit itself intercedes for us with unutterable groans. ²⁷ And He that searcheth the hearts, knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit; for he intercedeth for the saints according to the will of God.

³⁰ and whom He called, these he also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. ³¹ What shall we say then to these things? if God be for us, who can be against us?

³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²¹ Hath not the potter power over the clay, out of the same mass to make one vessel to honor and another to dishonor? ²² And what if God, though resolved to shew his displeasure at last, and to make known his power, yet bore with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction?

²⁴ whom He hath also called, even us, not only of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles.

¹⁴ I extol my office, that if possible I may excite to emulation my brethren according to the flesh, and may save some of them:

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgements, and his ways not to be traced out!

³⁶ For of Him, and through Him, and for Him, are all things. To Him be glory for ever. Amen.

¹⁰ But why dost thou censure thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? since we shall all stand before the tribunal of Christ;

³ For I indeed, absent in body, but present in spirit, have already, as if I were present, judged him who hath wrought this wickedness: in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁴ when ye are assembled together with my spirit, by the power, I say, ⁵ of our Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your boasting is not good.
