¹³ Then Paul answered, "What are ye doing, weeping and crushing my heart? For I am ready, not only to be bound, but to die at Jerusalem, for the name of the Lord Jesus."

⁴¹ They, therefore, were going from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they were accounted worthy to suffer dishonor in behalf of The Name.

¹⁶ for I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake.

²⁴ But I make not my soul of any value as dear to myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify the Gospel of the grace of God.

³⁷ And great weeping arose from all; and, falling upon Paul's neck, they kept kissing him;

³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or perils or sword? ³⁶ As it has been written, "For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us.

³¹ Daily am I dying, I avow by the glorying in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord!

¹⁰ always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body. ¹¹ For we who live are always delivered up to death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. ¹² So that death is working in us, but life in you. ¹³ But, having the same spirit of faith, according to what has been written, "I believed, therefore did I speak"; we believe, therefore also we speak; ¹⁴ knowing that He Who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise up us also with Jesus, and will present us with you. ¹⁵ For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, abounding through the many, may make the thanksgiving abound, to the glory of God. ¹⁶ Wherefore, we faint not; but even if our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is being renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our momentary light tribulation is working out for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as beside myself) I am more; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths often; ²⁴ from the Jews five times I received forty stripes save one; ²⁵ thrice I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; thrice I suffered shipwreck; a night and a day I have spent in the deep; ²⁶ in journeyings often, in perils of rivers, in perils of robbers, in perils from my countrymen, in perils from the gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ in toil and hardship, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I shall in nothing be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether through life, or through death. ²¹ For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

¹⁷ But even if I am offered as a libation upon the sacrifice and ministry of your faith, I rejoice, and I rejoice with you all;

²⁶ since he was longing after you all, and was in great distress, because ye heard that he was sick.

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings in your behalf, and fill up in turn the deficiencies of the tribulations of Christ in my flesh for the sake of His body, which is the assembly;

⁴ longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with joy;

⁴ No one, serving as a soldier, entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier. ⁵ And, if also one contends in the games, he is not crowned, unless he contends lawfully. ⁶ The toiling husbandman must first partake of the fruits.

⁶ For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has arrived.

¹⁴ knowing that speedy is the putting off of my tabernacle, as also our Lord Jesus Christ signified to me.

¹⁰ Because you kept the word of My patience. I also will keep you from the hour of trial, which is about to come upon the whole inhabited earth, to try those who dwell upon the earth.

¹¹ and they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony, and they loved not their soul, even to death.
