¹ But as to times and dates, brothers, you have no need of anyone's writing you,

¹ It is really superfluous for me to write to you about this service which is being rendered to God's people,

⁹ Now as to brotherly love, you have no need of anyone's writing you, for you have yourselves been taught by God to love one another,

³ Dearly beloved, while I was doing my best to begin writing you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write and urge you to carry on a vigorous defense of the faith that was once for all entrusted to God's people.
