1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the Thessalonian church in union with God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 spiritual blessing and peace be to you.
3 We always ought to be thanking God for you, brothers, as it is right to do so, because your faith is growing so much and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing
4 so that we are always boasting of you among the churches of God for your patient endurance and faith, in spite of your persecutions and crushing sorrows which you are enduring.
5 This is a proof of God's righteous judgment, His aim being to let you show yourselves worthy of His kingdom, for which you are suffering; since,
6 indeed, it is right for God to repay with crushing sorrows those who cause you these crushing sorrows,
7 and to give rest to you who are being crushed with sorrows, along with us, at the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, with His mighty angels
8 in a flame of fire, who will take vengeance on those who do not know God, that is, those who will not listen to the good news of our Lord Jesus.
9 These will receive the punishment of eternal destruction as exiles from the presence of the Lord and His glorious might,
10 when on that day He comes to be glorified in His consecrated ones and to be admired by all who believe in Him because our testimony has been confidently accepted among you.
11 With this in view we are always praying for you too, that our God may make you worthy of His call, and by His power fully satisfy your every desire for goodness, and complete every activity of your faith,
12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and you through union with Him, in accordance with the favor of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 for when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we were going to be pressed with difficulties, and it took place, as you know.

12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and you through union with Him, in accordance with the favor of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 how can we escape, if we pay no attention at all to a salvation that is so great? This is so because it was first proclaimed by the Lord Himself, and then it was proved to us to be valid by the very men who heard Him themselves,
Hebrews 3:1
1 Therefore, my Christian brothers, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the Messenger and High Priest whom we profess to follow,
Hebrews 4:1
1 So let us fear that when the promise for us to be admitted to His rest is still remaining valid some one of you may be found to have missed it.
Hebrews 4:9
9 So a sabbath of rest is still awaiting God's people.
Hebrews 4:11
11 So let us do our best to be admitted to that rest, so that not one of us may fail through the same sort of disobedience.

9 and because He was perfectly qualified for it He became the author of endless salvation for all who obey Him,

15 And so by patiently waiting he obtained what God had promised him.

28 so Christ was offered once for all to take away the sins of many, but again He will appear, without having anything to do with sin, to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him to bring them final salvation.
Hebrews 10:27
27 but only a terrifying prospect of judgment and that fiery indignation which is going to devour God's enemies.
Hebrews 10:29
29 How much severer punishment do you suppose that one deserves who tramples the Son of God underfoot, and counts as a common thing the blood of the covenant by which he was consecrated, and has insulted the Spirit that grants God's unmerited favor?
30 For we know who it was that said, "Vengeance belongs to me, I will pay back!" and again, "The Lord will be His people's judge."
Hebrews 10:32-33
32 But you must continue to remember those earlier days when first you received the light and then endured so great a struggle with persecution,
33 partly by being exposed as a public spectacle to insults and violent sufferings, and partly by showing yourselves ready to share with those who were living in this condition.
Hebrews 10:36
36 Indeed, to carry out the will of God and to receive the blessing He has promised, you need endurance, for:
Hebrews 11:8
8 By faith Abraham, on being called, obeyed in starting off for a country which he was to receive as his own, and he did it in spite of the fact that he did not know where he was going.
Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Therefore, as we have so vast a crowd of spectators in the grandstands, let us throw off every impediment and the sin that easily entangles our feet, and run with endurance the race for which we are entered,
2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the perfect leader and example of faith, who, instead of the joy which lay before Him, endured the cross with no regard for its shame, and since has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the perfect leader and example of faith, who, instead of the joy which lay before Him, endured the cross with no regard for its shame, and since has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Yes, to keep from growing weary and fainthearted, just think of the examples set by Him who has endured so great opposition aimed at Him by sinful men!
Hebrews 12:29
29 for our God, indeed, is a consuming fire.
James 1:3-4
James 5:7-8
7 So be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer keeps on waiting and waiting for the precious crop from his land; how he keeps up his patience over it until he gets the early and late rains,
8 You must be patient, too; you must put iron into your hearts, because the coming of the Lord is close at hand.
James 5:11
11 See how we call those who thus endured happy! You have heard how patiently Job endured and have seen how the Lord finally blessed him, because the Lord is tenderhearted and merciful.

2 the people chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the consecration of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and to be sprinkled with His blood: spiritual blessing and peace to you in increasing abundance.
1 Peter 1:7-8
7 so that the genuineness of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even after it is shown by the test of fire to be genuine, may result in your praise and glory and honor at the unveiling of Jesus Christ.
8 You must continue to love Him, although you have never seen Him, but because you do believe in Him, although you do not now see Him, you must continue to rejoice with an unutterable and triumphant joy,
1 Peter 1:22
22 Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth, in sincere love for the brotherhood you must love one another heartily and fervently,

1 Peter 3:6
6 They were submissive to their husbands, as Sarah, for example, obeyed Abraham and called him master. You have become true daughters of hers, if you practice doing right and cease from every fear.
1 Peter 3:22-4:1
22 who has gone to heaven and is now at God's right hand, with angels, heavenly authorities and powers made subject to Him.
1 Peter 4:14-18
14 If you are suffering abuse because you bear the name of Christ, you are happy, because the glorious Spirit of God is resting upon you.
1 Peter 4:14
14 If you are suffering abuse because you bear the name of Christ, you are happy, because the glorious Spirit of God is resting upon you.
15 For not one of you should suffer as a murderer or as a thief or any sort of criminal, or as a meddler in other people's business,
16 but if anyone suffers for being a Christian, he must not be ashamed of it, but should keep on praising God for bearing this name.
17 Because the time has come for judgment to begin at the household of God, and if it begins with us, what will the end be of those who are rejecting God's good news?
1 Peter 4:17
1 Peter 5:10
10 And God, the giver of every spiritual blessing, who through your union with Christ has called you to His eternal glory, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself make you perfect, firm, and strong,
2 Peter 1:5-10
2 Peter 1:6
6 knowledge with self-control, self-control with patient endurance, patient endurance with piety,
7 piety with brotherly affection, brotherly affection with universal love.
8 For if you have these qualities and they continue to increase in you, they will make you neither idle nor unproductive in attaining a full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For whoever lacks these qualities is blind -- or short-sighted-- and forgetful of the cleansing that he has received from his former sins.
10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more in earnest to make certain to yourselves God's call and choice of you. For if you cultivate these qualities, you will never slip,
2 Peter 1:13
13 Yet I think it right, as long as I live in this bodily tent, to arouse you by a reminder,
2 Peter 2:17
17 Such men are dried-up springs, clouds driven by the storm, and they are doomed to densest darkness.
2 Peter 3:7
7 But by the same command the present heavens and earth are stored up for fire and are kept for the day when godless men are to be doomed and destroyed.
2 Peter 3:10-12
10 The day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a roar, the heavenly bodies will be destroyed by being burned up, and the earth with all its works will melt away.
11 If all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what men you ought to be! What holy and pious lives you ought to lead,
12 since you are awaiting and hastening the coming of the day of God, which will cause the heavens to blaze and dissolve and the heavenly bodies to burn up and melt away!
2 Peter 3:18
18 but instead, you must continue to grow in the spiritual strength and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory now and forever!
Jude 1:13
13 wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shame; wandering stars that are forever doomed to utter darkness.
14 It was about such men also that Enoch, the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied when he said: "See! The Lord comes with myriads of His people
15 to execute judgment upon all, to convict all the godless of their godless deeds which in their godlessness they have committed, and of all the harsh things that godless sinners have said against Him."

15 This is why they are before the throne of God, and day and night serve Him in His temple, and He who is seated on His throne will shelter them in His tent.
16 They will never again be hungry or thirsty, and never again will the sun strike them, or any scorching heat,
17 because the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their Shepherd, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes."

10 himself will have to drink the wine of God's vengeance, poured unmixed into the cup of His wrath, and be tortured with fire and brimstone before the eyes of the holy angels and the Lamb.
11 The smoke of their torture will go up forever and ever, and they will have no rest day or night -- those who worship the wild beast and his statue, and anyone who bears the mark of his name."
12 In this way is shown the patient endurance of God's people, who always cling to God's commands and their faith in Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who from this time die as Christians.'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "let them rest from their toils, for the things they have done are going with them."

7 And I heard the altar say, "Yes, Lord God Almighty! Your sentences are true and just."

Revelation 22:6
6 Then he said to me: "These words are trustworthy and true; the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show His slaves what must soon take place.

9 But he said to me: "You must be careful not to do that; I am only a fellow-slave of yours, of your brothers the prophets, and of the people who practice the truths contained in this book. Worship God."
