³⁹ But he answered and said, Do not ye forbid him: for there is no one who shall do a miracle in my name, that can soon speak evil of me.

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out dæmons? and in thy name done many wonderful works? ²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me all ye that work iniquity.

²⁸ He said unto them, A man that is an enemy hath done this. The servants say unto him, Wilt thou that we go and gather them up? ²⁹ He saith, unto them No: lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

¹³ And they brought young children to him that he should touch them; and [his] disciples rebuked those that brought [them]. ¹⁴ But when Jesus saw [it], he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer very little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

¹³ Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call overthem who had evil spirits, the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. ¹⁴ Among whom were also the sons of Sceva a Priest, who would do the same, having the custom to exorcise such persons. And when they had entred in to the Dæmoniack, they began to call on [that] name, saying, We charge thee by Jesus whom Paul preacheth, to go out. ¹⁵ But the evil spirit answered [and] said to them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye? ¹⁶ And the man in whom the evil spirit was, leapt on them, overcame them, and prevailed against them both; so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I my self should be a castaway.

³ Wherefore I give you to understand, that no one, by the Spirit of God, calleth Jesus accursed; and no one can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

¹ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. ² And though I have prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have no charity, I am nothing.

¹⁸ What then? notwithstanding every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
