1 And as he passed by, he saw a man who was blind from [his] birth, sitting.
2 And the disciples asked him, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no one can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and mad clay of the spittle, and he anointed his eyes with the clay.
7 And said, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is interpreted Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
8 The neighbours therefore, and they who before had seen him, that he was a beggar, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
9 Some said, This is he: others, He is like him: He said himself, I am [he].
10 Therefore said they unto him, How then were thine eyes opened?
11 He answered, A man that is called Jesus, made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to Siloam, and wash: I went therefore and washed, and come seeing.
12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said to them, I know not.
13 And they bring him that aforetime was blind to the Pharisees.
14 And it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. But He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he observeth not the sabbath. But others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such signs? And there was a division among them.
17 They said therefore unto the blind min, What sayst thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? But He said, He is a prophet.
18 The Jews did not believe concerning him, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how therefore doth he now see?
20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
21 But by that means he now seeth, we know not, or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age, ask him, he shall speak for himself.
22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any one should confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age, ask him.
24 They called again him that was blind, a second time, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
25 He answered therefore, Whether he be a sinner I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I had been blind, now I see.
26 They said therefore to him, What did he to thee? and how opened he thine eyes?
27 But he said, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
28 But they reviled him, and said Thou art his disciple; We are Moses disciples.
29 We know that God hath spoken unto Moses, and that God heareth not sinners. As for this man, we know not whence he is.
30 The man answered and said, Why, herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not whence he is, and he hath opened mine eyes.
31 We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any one be a worshipper of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.
32 From the beginning it has not be heard that any one opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33 If this man were not of God he could do nothing.
34 They answered him, and said, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? An they cast him out.
35 And Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and he found him and said, Dost thou believe on the Son of man?
36 He answered, And who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
37 Jesus answered, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
38 Be he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world: that they who see not, might see; and that they who see, might be made blind.
40 But some of the Pharisees who were with him heard, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
41 Jesus therefore said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see: therefore your sins remain.

3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him,
4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shew-bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them who were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 For I say unto you, that here is one greater than the temple.
7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath.
9 And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue.
10 And behold, there was a man there who had his hand withered: and they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbaths? that they might accuse him.
11 But he said unto them, What man is there among you, that shall have one sheep, and is shall fall into a pit on the sabbath, does he not lay hold on it, and lift [it] out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbaths.
13 Then said he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand: and he stretched [it] forth; and it was restored whole, like the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

7 The scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal, that they might find to accuse him.
8 But he knowing their thoughts, saith to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand in the midst. And he arose, and stood up.
9 But Jesus said unto them, I ask you, Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do evil?to save life, or to destroy [it]?But they held their peace.
10 And looking round about upon them all, in anger, he saith unto the man, stretch forth thy hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored whole as the other also. And he said unto them, that the son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

13 And he laid hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and said, unto the multitude. There are six days in which they ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath-day.
15 But the Lord Jesus answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite; doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox and ass from the stall, and lead [him] away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath-day?

16 Wo unto you, ye blind guides, who say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debter.
17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold or the temple that hath sanctified the gold?
18 And whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing: but whosoever sweareth by he gold that is upon it, he is a debter.
19 Ye fools and blind: for whether [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
21 And whoso shall have sworn by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that hath dwelt therein.
22 And he that shall have sworn by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
23 Wo unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye pay tithe of mint, and anise, and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
24 Ye blind guides, who strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
25 Wo unto you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that within the cup, that the outside of it may be clean also.
27 Wo unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye are like unto whited sepulchres. The sepulchre appears beautiful outward, but is within full of dead mens bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisie and iniquity.
Luke 11:39-54
39 But the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees Hypocrites make clean the outside of the cup and the platter: but your inside is full of ravening and wickedness.
40 Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without, make that which is within also?
41 But rather give alms of such things as you have: and behold, all things shall be clean unto you.
42 But wo unto you, Pharisees: for ye tithe mint and rue, and every herb, and pass over judgment, and the love of God.
43 Wo unto you, O ye Pharisees: for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets: and the highest places at feasts.
44 Wo unto you, O ye scribes and Pharisees; for ye are graves which appear not, and the men that walk over [them,] know it not.
45 But one of the lawyers, answered and said, unto him, Master, thus saying, thou reproachest us also.
46 And he said, Wo unto you also, lawyers: for ye burden men with burdens grievous to be born, and ye your selves touch them not with one of your fingers.
47 Wo unto you: for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Bear ye therefore witness that ye do not allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, but ye build [their sepulchres.]
49 Therefore I send them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they will slay and persecute:
50 That the blood of all the prophets, which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, unto this generation may be required;
51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, the Son of Barachias whom they slew between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.
52 Wo unto you lawyers: for ye have hidden the key of knowledge: and ye entred not in your selves, and them that were entring in, ye hindred.
53 And as [he] said these things unto them, before all the people, the Pharisees and lawyers began to urge [him] vehemently, and to confer with him about many things:
54 Seeking to obtain some occasion against him, that they might have wherewith to accuse him.
Romans 2:19-22
19 And art confident that thou thy self art a guide of the blind, a light of them who are in darkness,
20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, who hast the form of knowledge, and of the truth in the law.
21 Thou therefore who teachest another, teachest thou not thy self? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayst a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
Revelation 3:17
17 Because thou sayst, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.
Luke 12:47
47 And that servant who knew his lords will, but did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many [stripes.]
Luke 18:14
14 I tell you, this man went down justified [rather] than that Pharisee: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.
John 15:22-24
22 If I had not come, and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
23 He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else had done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen me, and hated me and my Father.
Hebrews 10:26
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is not another sacrifice left still to be offered.
