1 And as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees on the sabbath, to eat bread, they watched him.
2 And behold there was a certain man before him, who had the dropsy.
3 And Jesus answering spake to the scribes and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
4 But they held their peace. And he took him and healed him and let him go,
5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?
6 And they could not answer him again to these things.
7 And he spake a parable to them that were invited, when he marked how they chose the chief seats,
8 saying to them, When thou art invited by any man to a marriage-feast, sit not down in the highest place, lest a more honourable man than thou be invited by him,
9 And he that invited thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place. And then thou shalt begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when thou art invited,
10 go and sit down in the lowest place, that when he who invited thee cometh, he may say, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honour in the presence of them that sit at table with thee. For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled, and he that
11 humbleth himself shall be exalted.
12 Then said he also to him that had invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours, lest they also invite thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
13 But when thou makest an entertainment, invite the poor,
14 the disabled, the lame, the blind, And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee; but thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
15 And one of them that sat at table with him, hearing these things, said to him, Happy is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
16 Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper and invited many.
17 And he sent his servants at supper time to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.
18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a field, I must needs go and see it: I pray thee, have me excused.
19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
21 So the servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the disabled, and the lame, and the blind.
22 And the servant said, Sir, it is done as thou hast commanded; and yet there is room.
23 And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste of my supper.
25 And great multitudes went with him. And he turned and said to them,
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 And which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and computeth the cost, whether he hath sufficient to finish it?
29 Lest haply after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold mock him,
30 saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
31 Or what king marching to incounter another king in war, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand, to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
32 If not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an embassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
33 So every one of you, who forsaketh not all that he hath, cannot be my disciple.
34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
35 It is neither fit for the land nor yet for dung; they cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Luke 17:26-31
26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the son of man.
27 They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded:
29 But the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed.
31 In that day, he that shall be on the house-top and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

41 And he abode there two days. And many more believed,
42 because of his word, And said to the woman, We no longer believe, because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

24 after the Lord had given thanks) When they saw, that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also went aboard the vessels, and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus.
25 And having found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were satisfied.
27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that which endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man will give you; for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:27-27
27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that which endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man will give you; for him hath God the Father sealed.
28 Then said they to him, What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
30 They said therefore to him, What sign dost thou then, that we may see and believe thee? What dost thou work?
31 Our fathers ate manna in the desert, as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then said Jesus to them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Moses gave you not the bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he that cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world.
34 Then said they to him, Lord, ever give us this bread. And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life.
35 He that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36 But I told you, that tho' ye have seen me, ye believe not.
37 All that the Father giveth me, will come to me, and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 And this is the will of him that sent me, That of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
41 The Jews then murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then saith he, I came down from heaven?
43 Jesus answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
44 No man can come to me, unless the Father who hath sent me, draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard and learned of the Father, cometh to me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he who is from God; he hath seen the Father.
47 Verily, verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
48 I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and yet died.
49 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat of it, and not die.
50 I am the living bread which came down from heaven:
51 If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever, and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
52 The Jews then debated among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 But Jesus said to them, Verily, verily I say unto you, unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father, so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate manna, and died: he that eateth of this bread, shall live for ever.
59 These things he said in the synagogue, teaching at Capernaum.

1 The former treatise have I composed, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,
2 Until the day he was taken up, after having thro' the Holy Ghost given commandment to the apostles, whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he presented himself alive after his passion, by many infallible proofs, being seen by them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
4 And having assembled them together, he commanded them, not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard from me.
5 For John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.
6 And when they were come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?
7 But he said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, the Holy Ghost being come upon you, and shall be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And having spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him from their sight.

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and, bringing a certain part, laid it at the feet of the apostles.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thy heart, to lie to the Holy Ghost?
4 And to keep back part of the price of the land? While it remained, did it not remain thine? And when it was sold, was it not in thy power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thy heart? Thou hast not lied to men, but to God.

2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire, and them that gained the victory over the wild beast, and over his image, and over the number of his name, standing at the sea of glass, and having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and wonderful are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, O King of the nations?
4 Who would not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For thou only art gracious: for all the nations shall come and worship before thee: for thy judgments are made manifest.
5 After this I saw, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony was opened in heaven:
6 And the seven angels that had the seven plagues came out of the temple, clothed in pure, white linen, and having their breasts girt with golden girdles.
7 And one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden phials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever.
